My heartfelt thanks to all the students and administrators at the Peninsula School of Art and The Morton Arboretum. The workshops were so much fun to teach and we couldn't have asked for better weather. A rarity in the Midwest! The students at PenArt were a smart and fun group to be with. We had a great time painting on the grounds of Plum Bottom Pottery and Gallery. Thanks Chad and Anne, for allowing the students to wander the beautiful woods and prairie surrounding Plum Bottom. Plans are underway to teach at PenArt during October of 2017.
The students at the Arboretum did an awesome job learning about the various types of trees that grow on the Arboretum grounds. Then they braved the mosquitoes and curious on lookers to draw outside around the Thornhill Education Center. It is so gratifying to teach returning students! I enjoyed catching up with them and seeing the progress they have made in their pastel art. And I hope to see the new students at the next workshop. The topic might be fall colors or drawing water and reflections. Both of these are my favorite subject matter.
Now it's back to normal and unpacking all the supplies for the workshops. Thanks for checking in - and keep painting!
